During our stay around the Dzagyel monastery, in June 2006, we could converse lengthily with the inhabitants of the monastery in order to determine their needs. It appeared clearly that in the heart of all, the restoration of the main temple was the most important. Then, the person in charge for the monastery, the abbot Khenpo Chöchok, showed us in detail the problems related to the deterioration of the temple. We thus could list the needs and work necessary for the restoration. We also estimated with the people in charge for the monastery their cost (cf table below). The first collected funds will enable us to make come, in this isolated area, a building firm in order to make a precise estimate of the work. Our intention is to make a restoration by stages while mitigating most urgent initially, in particular by protecting it from the bad weather.
