This
project aims to restore the Dzagyel monastery, located in the
province of Dzachuka in Kham, Eastern Tibet.
This monastery, founded in the 19th century by Dza Patrul Rinpoche,
has a very rich history and is very important in the heart of
the habitants of all the area. This monastery, like many others,
was entirely destroyed by the Chinese occupation known as "the
Cultural revolution".
Eighteen years ago, the monastery was rebuilt by the local populations.
But the area is one of the poorest and the temple is in a particularly
bad condition. Thus, during a travel in this area, we, Romain
Rousset and Andres Larrain (two young people from Lausanne), touched
by this cause, initiated this project which aims to the safeguarding
of a place whose cultural and historical value is priceless.
